III. Venezia

The title of this page may be slightly misleading: the works you see here were inspired by a 2010 trip to Venice, but you won’t find any renderings of canals or St. Marco’s Basilica. These paintings were created after visiting the Peggy Guggenheim collection in Venice, which was one of my first opportunities to see the works of Max Ernst in real life. The works of Ernst – particularly those involving his “grattage” technique – continue to be a driving force for me, so expect additions to this page in the future.
